The old rims had so much rust on them that the tires wouldn’t seat and hold air and taking the tires back off tore up the bead. (The tires are new old stock and kind of hard rubber, anyhow.)
I’d seen sets of take-offs at the local Chevy dealership so I called the Parts Department to see what they had available. Nothing.
But it turns out the guy at the counter has been collecting wheels for years and has a bunch in his storage. Like, lots of wheels, he says. The stock rims are 14x7 with a 4-inch offset. Here’s hoping for some 15x7s with a similar offset. I want to fit 205/70/15s.

15" steelies and some dog dish hubcaps would look mint on that van.

I’ve got the original dog dishes but they’re not in great shape.

I’d keep my eyes open for some good ones.

i have had some like that........... when that happens, i usually take the grinder with the wire wheel, and get them clean as i can, then before i try to air them up,to set the bead, i use some gloss spray paint, and spray the bead of the rim. when it starts to get tacky, hit it with some air. holds air better than it should.
inner tubes?.........

These stock rims are 14x7; I’m gonna find some 15x7s and go with a 205/70/15. Looks aren’t all that important to me, so long as it’s tidy.

A guy said he might have some stamped steel five-six from a Buick or Oldsmobile. My first choice would be silver, slightly stylized steel rims from an Astro or Safari. I’ve been told the widest on those might be six inches.
